Not only is this the best salsa verde, but it is also SO easy to make. Seriously, people- I was warned against putting this recipe on my page and to bottle it up and sell it instead, but that wouldn't be very Kuhn Fusion of me, now would it?

The Best Salsa Verde

THE BEST SALSA VERDE

PREP: 5 min. COOK: 7 min. TOTAL: 15 min.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 12 tomatillos, husked & rinsed

  • 1/2 of an onion

  • 3-5 jalapeños

  • 1 serrano pepper

  • 4 whole cloves of garlic

  • Olive Oil

  • Salt

  • 1 whole bunch cilantro with stems

  • 1 tbsp. chicken bouillion

  • 1/4 tsp. ground cumin

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Turn on the broiler function on your oven.

  2. Place the tomatillos, onion, jalapenos, serrano pepper, and garlic on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil and salt.

  3. Broil for 7 minutes until the produce starts to char, flipping halfway through if needed.

  4. Place the ingredients in a blender, but start with only 3 of the jalapenos- reserve the other two on the side. Be sure to remove the outer stems from the jalapeno and serrano peppers if necessary.

  5. Once the charred produce is in the blender, add the chicken bouillon, cumin, and the entire bunch of cilantro, including the stems.

  6. Blend until smooth and then taste.

  7. If you would like to add more heat, you can add the reserved jalapenos one at a time until you reach your desired spice level.

  8. Add salt to taste if needed.

  9. Serve hot with tortilla chips or on top of some tacos for an extra burst of flavor. Store in an airtight container in the fridge and enjoy for up to a week.
