My Simple Guacamole

This is My Simple Guacamole recipe that I use as the base for any guacamole I make. It can be enjoyed as is, or spruced up with some chopped onion, tomatoes, jalapeños, or whatever it is you like to add to your guacamole!

MY SIMPLE GUACAMOLE

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 ripe avocado

  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp. fresh cilantro

  • juice from 1/2 a wedge of lime

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Slice the avocado in half and remove the pit. Use a spoon to scrape the insides of the avocado out and into a bowl or mortar.

  • Add in the salt, pepper, garlic, cilantro, and lime juice. If you are using a mortar and pestle, mash until you reach your desired consistency. If you don't have a mortar and pestle, I like to use a plain ol' bowl and fork. Using the fork, mash the guacamole until you reach your desired consistency.

  • Eat by itself with some chips, use as a topping, incorporate it into your favorite dishes, or just eat it with a spoon- enjoy it however you wish!

Note: I like to use a mortar and pestle simply because I believe it allows the ingredients to better combine and infuse flavors. It is not at all necessary.
