Super Simple Oven Roasted Chicken

Nothing beats an easy to make and even easier to prepare roast chicken. After trying this oven roasted chicken, you will wonder why you ever felt inclined to buy a rotisserie chicken!



An easy roasted chicken with cajun seasoning that will feed an entire family or render a solo diner delicious leftovers that can easily be converted into flavorful new dishes!


PREP: 5 min. COOK: 1 hr 15 min TOTAL: 1 hr 20 min



  • 1 4-5 pound whole chicken with giblets and neck removed from cavity

  • Tony Chachere's Seasoning (or seasoning of your choice)

  • 2 pats of butter


  • Preheat oven to 425ºF. Line a baking sheet with foil or lightly grease a roasting pan.

  • Discard neck from inside the cavity and remove any excess fat and leftover feathers.

  • Pat chicken dry with paper towels and season liberally with Tony Cachere's (or your preferred seasoning). Place two pats of butter on top of the chicken between the two breasts breasts.

  • Roast for 1 hour and 15-20 minutes until the juices run clear or the internal temperature reaches 165ºF.

  • Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
