Devil's Food Cake

This is a decadent, rich, and most amazing chocolate cake. Here's your ticket to becoming the most requested guest at any dinner party. As with the previous dessert, I forgot to take a picture before serving, but I cropped the one from my instagram story and tried my best. They taste better than they look in these pictures, I promise. :)





  • 2 cups AP flour

  • 1 1/4 tsp kosher salt

  • 1 tsp. baking powder

  • 2 tsp. baking soda

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1 cup coffee, cooled- but not cold

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla

for the icing:

  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

  • 1/8 tsp. salt


  • Preheat oven to 350°F.

  • Sift the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and sugar into a bowl.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, milk, coffee, eggs, and vanilla.

  • Fold the dry ingredients into the wet until fully incorporated.

  • Pour the mixture into your pan/ or pans of choice and place in the oven for 40-45 or until you can stick a toothpick in the cake and pull it out clean.

  • Let cool to room temperature before releasing from the pan.

for the icing:

  • Place the heavy cream and chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and heat one 30 seconds to 1 minute, then add in the salt. Stir the mixture until it is smooth and then pour it over your cake.

  • Serve & enjoy!
